We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Coach with the Phoenix Mercury Basketball Operations Department. This position will be responsible for opponent scouting, helping to coordinate team practices, individual basketball skill development, and assisting in any other activity needed in the construction and development of the team.

All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona.

What Will You Do:

• Conduct and execute strategy & development of scouting plans against opposing teams.
• Conduct thorough player analysis and evaluation through video and live practice.
• Participate in the scouting of opponents both in season and off season.
• Collaborate and help determine game strategy for current and upcoming seasons.
• Assist with creating team practice schedule as necessary.
• Contribute to the evaluation of potential draft pick and free agent prospects.
• Demonstrate the ability to do position specific skill development that links to team basketball philosophy
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance

What We Need From Our Assistant Coach:

• Strong creative problem solving.
• Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Video editing proficiency - Synergy, SportsCode and related applications.
• Knowledge of scouting applications – Fast Scout & Just Play.
• Exemplifies respectful conduct and communication.

Experience/ Education Requirements:

• 5+ years of college or professional coaching or playing experience required.
