POSITION SUMMARY:
The Y Before and After School Care Site Assistant will be responsible for the general supervision and management of the site, as well as assisting in the child’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive development. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

• NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
• Part-Time position, with flexible scheduling, and growth opportunities
• Working hours consist of Monday-Friday 6:30am-8:30am and/or 3:00pm-6:00pm plus weekly staff meetings
• All trainings are paid
• All inclusive FREE Y FAMILY MEMBERSHIP with full facility access

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requires the individual to be 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Meets the requirements set forth by the state-licensing agency.
• Complete Blood Borne Pathogens training, Redwoods, and concussion trainings as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment, attending to the needs of the children at all times.
• Lead curriculum activities and implement daily programs and monthly lesson plans
• Assist in planning and set-up of needed material and supplies, and clean-up of environment
• Establish and maintain a positive relationship with all school staff, YMCA staff, program participants and the general public.
• Know and adhere to all licensing regulations in accordance to state laws and requirements.
• Follow all safety, bloodborne and child abuse prevention guidelines while following all emergency procedures and drills as needed.
• Meet the needs of the children participating in the program.
