Job Purpose: Work with the Manager of Baseball Analytics and Player Development to analyze data for player development and optimization. We envision the person in this position will play a major role in the creation of new baseball analytics/development concepts with the goal of supporting player development and player projections.
Technical Assessment:
All candidates will need to apply for the job (link below) and also take an initial technical assessment. The assessment is 5 questions and tests for general programming knowledge. There is a 2-hour time limit but the average time spent for great candidates will be 45-75 mins. Candidates who pass the technical assessment will move on to the next interview round.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Hands-on-keyboard (75% time spent): Including (but not limited to) designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining methods, models and tools for player assessment and development to create actionable development objectives; analyzing current and new data sources in order to develop new player development insights
- Hands-off-keyboard (25% time spent): Including (but not limited to) collaborating with player development staff on analytics and data requests; communicating project plans and updates with the player development analytics coordinator and baseball analytics; collaborating with cross-functional departments and stakeholders on projects related to player development and player projections
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to perform statistical analyses and develop predictive models.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all aspects of Baseball Operations and Player Development staffs.
- Knowledge of current baseball research and traditional baseball statistics and strategy.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize work, create project plans, roadmaps, and drive projects to completion.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Must be trustworthy and comfortable with managing and sensitive information.
Experience, Education and Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering.
- Experience with R/python and SQL.
Requirements:
- Spoken and written fluency in English.
- Ability to travel within the United States and internationally.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Remote working accommodations are available.
