Delivery Truck Driver - Full-time

Caniff Electric Supply, a wholly owned subsidiary of McNaughton-McKay Electric, is a wholesale and industrial electrical distributor with multiple locations that serve Southeast Michigan. Our delivery truck drivers are an integral part of our operation and are dependable and friendly individuals. Delivery drivers are customer facing and must excel in customer service, as well as following direction from our customers. Drivers are required valid driving credentials and qualifications including but not limited to a clean driving record, a Michigan chauffeur’s license, and are able to safely navigate their way around, with familiarity of, Metro Detroit and the surrounding areas. Individuals in this role must be able to comfortably and skillfully drive the following vehicle types: newer model 16ft. and 26ft. stake and box trucks (with lift gates), vans, and hilos.

Responsibilities:

• Picking and checking orders, loading and unloading, and securing material on delivery vehicle.
• Compliance with all motor vehicle regulations, company driver policies, and traffic laws.
• Observes all safety rules and polices for loading/unloading, and transportation of material.
• Performs necessary pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and fueling procedures.
• Complies with delivery instructions; maintains strict adherence to customer rules at work sites.
• Provides customer service, builds and maintains customer relationships.
• Follows paperwork procedures and signature verification policies to confirm receipt of material.

Job Requirements:

• Clean Driving Record.
• Minimum of 23 years of age.
• Committed to providing exceptional customer service and being open to feedback.
• Is familiar with Detroit Metro area road systems and knows how to navigate surrounding areas.
• Michigan Chauffeur's License, able to pass a MI DOT physical, and background check.
• Ability to operate a hilo/forklift.
• Good basic math skills.
• Indoor/Outdoor work environment.
• Physical work including but not limited to being able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 100lbs, bend, kneel, climb ladders and be on feet walking/standing parts of shift.
• Clear communication skills; speaks fluent English.
• Highschool diploma, GED or equivalent.

Hours: M-F, 6AM-3PM; overtime as needed.

Job Type: Full-time, $18.00 to $21.00 per hour starting pay
