Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse licensure (in state position is located) required
- Active CPR required
- Active or ability to obtain Wound Certification and Infection Preventionist Certification required
- Three-years’ experience working in Geriatric, Long Term Care or Rehab setting preferred
- One-year management or supervisory experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
- Develops and maintains nursing policies, procedures, objectives and practice standards.
- Prepares staffing schedules within budgetary guidelines and ensures; assists with budget process
- Maintains and prepares records, documentation and reports as required by policies and regulations.
- Acts as a catalyst for quality improvement.
- Performs daily rounding on residents and staff.
- Remains compliant with all federal, state, local and corporate regulations.
- Creates, maintains and supports a safe work environment and work practices.
- Supervises medical records service.
- Responsible for the Comprehensive Resident Assessment and the Interdisciplinary Plan Of Care process.
- Assists with maintenance of nursing policies, procedures, objectives and standards of practice.
- Reviews and makes recommendations related to recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, supervision and corrective action for nursing staff; responsible for appropriate documentation related to these tasks.
- Evaluates job performance of professional staff and reviews peer evaluations for assigned staff.
- Participates in preparation of nursing schedules to assure adequate staffing and quality care.
- Provides input and direction to the nursing Quality Assurance Program.
- Conducts regular staff meetings for all shifts.
- Maintains accurate resident census reports.
- Assists with licensure and certification tracking.
- Maintains budgetary control of supply inventory, cost containment and staffing.
- Develops positive relationships and is accessible to all residents, families, visitors and staff.
- Promotes and supports culture of patient centered care and service.
