Position Title: IEP Facilitator

Reports to: Director of Special Education

FLSA Designation: Non-exempt

Calendar: 9 or 10 month


SUMMARY: Implements the Special Education Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. Support the Special Education Teacher by preparing for IEP meetings at assigned campuses by scheduling meetings and completing drafts of all required documentation in the development and completion of Individual Education Plans (IEP). Maintain student records and work collaboratively with other staff members to develop plans for services for students with special needs.

    • Maintain a commitment to the District mission; model District expectations and actively support the efforts of others to achieve District goals.
    • Utilize effective communication and collaboration skills between and among various areas of the organization to maximize service delivery and program development.
    • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in relating to staff, the administrators, the students, parents and community members.
    • Ensure that timeline requirements are met for all students regarding annual IEPs, Notification of Meetings, and maintain appropriate documentation of the IEP process.
    • Collect and organize relevant data from student’s educational records, classroom teachers(s), principal and other administrators, support staff, parents, and outside resources;
    • Consult parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals concerning the educational needs of students to enhance facilitation of educational programs.
    • Coordinate with all parties and prepare draft documentation for students’ IEPs according to District procedures, state and federal guidelines.
    • Positively represent Glenpool Public Schools and the District administration at public venues
    • Develop and maintain systems for retrieval of information in support of all programs; compile, maintain, file, and secure all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
    • Maintain confidentiality in communication, both written and verbal. Maintain written documentation and records using the locked and secured district procedures and ensure that any written documentation and records does not leave the district.
    • Pursue professional development activities for self and assigned staff; ensure that professional development activities are aligned with district goals and initiatives and current professional research.
    • Participate in in Special Education meetings, campus committees, etc. as requested by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: HS diploma or GED

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies.
