Full Time Position Available
Perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of the properties and facilities of the Parks and Recreation Department to enhance the total recreation opportunities for the general public.
GROUNDS KEEPING AND LANDSCAPE EXPERIENCE A PLUS
Classification: This is a safety sensitive position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations, the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act and/or Oklahoma Medical Marijuana laws. As a safety sensitive classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana. Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Grounds maintenance using a variety of tools and methods to keep department grounds functional, safe, and secure.
Landscaping and landscape maintenance.
Application of pesticides as required
Operation of weed eater and mower
Operation of larger department equipment, i.e. loader, dozer, on major projects
Normal maintenance and preventative maintenance on equipment.
General custodial work.
Building maintenance, including painting, carpentry, concrete work, and plumbing.
Inspection and repair of playground equipment on a regularly scheduled basis.
Other tasks and duties may be assigned to the employee as needed by the supervisor in charge and/or city administration that are not included in this job description and may/or may not be in this department.
