AVA Companies, a leading manufacturer & distributor of quality beef and pork products is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our Team. This role will report to the executive leadership. Our offices, manufacturing & distribution center is in Hicksville, New York.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs maintenance management by supervising maintenance personnel and establishing priorities in maintenance schedules.
• Maintains manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders, invoice approvals, and manages the department budget.
• Manages maintenance personnel by setting direction and priorities.
• Ensure Preventive Maintenance (PMs) are conducted on all Production Line Equipment according to schedules and real-time deficiencies.
• Ensures cross-training is conducted within the department on all equipment.
• Monitors attendance and schedules.
• Drives the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, not reactive.
• Performs other duties by coordinating work with outside inspections, providing project management, ensuring the safety of personnel, and performing other duties as required.
• Manages, maintains, and establishes maintenance procedures for production lines in a food manufacturing environment to ensure production meets or performs better than budget.
• Develop associate and supervisor skills by conducting training meetings; one on one development sessions; outside technical skills training; and establishing and monitoring performance reviews for supervisors and associates.
• Sets and maintains departmental budget by reviewing financial statements; monitoring line deficiencies; monitoring labor costs; and other expenses.
• Participate in designing and developing future production capacities by attending design meetings; coordinating with executive management regarding product changes and improvements; and updating maintenance operating procedures and schedules to incorporate the changes.
• Responsible for maintaining Quality Systems and external structure repairs as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 5 Years of experience in maintenance.
• 2 Years of experience in a Supervisor Role.
• This is a physical, active position that requires standing, bending, lifting, carrying, kneeling, etc…
• Able to work in a humid refrigerated environment (30 - 35 degrees)
• Must have a hands-on work ethic.
• Candidates with previous experience in Machine Maintenance and diagnostics.
• Some weekends will be required based on customer orders and the ability to work extended hours and be on call is required.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, be organized, possess team-building skills to effectuate a successful maintenance department.

Salary: $110,000 to $150,000 based on experience
