USA Pickleball is seeking a marketing professional to support the day-to-day execution of the organization’s marketing strategies, including membership acquisition & retention, promotion of national-level events, and support of corporate partnerships. Ideal candidate should possess an understanding of how to effectively appeal to a wide cross-section of audiences through multiple channels and tactics, including emerging technologies.
This is a full-time position based in Phoenix, Arizona and reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate daily with the CMO while helping comprise an overall business unit that is competent, commercially astute, dedicated and efficient.
  • Ensure the successful integration of external marketing strategies, functions and campaigns, while optimizing the use of shared and support services.
  • Propose and execute creative ideas for membership marketing, the branding and amplification of USA Pickleball, organizational programs, and the sport as a whole.
  • Help lead database marketing, including the distribution of targeted e-communications to a national membership in support of sponsor, event and acquisition/retention efforts.
  • Support marketing and promotional efforts for events, including the National Championships, National Championship Series (NCS), Diamond Amateur Championships, Indoor National Championships and Regional Championships.
  • Develop and deliver impactful digital and print presentations and materials, utilizing available graphic design resources.
  • Collaborate with outside consultants and agencies on assigned projects and initiatives including surveys, research and industry data collection.
  • Liaise with strategic partners, professional tours and leagues, and athletes while supporting aligned activities as necessary.
  • Represent USA Pickleball while developing and expanding corporate relationships at select industry trade shows.
Requirements
  • Desire to collaborate as part of a team atmosphere, including effective coordination with members of other departments, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 2-3 years professional experience, preferably in the sports marketing industry
  • Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, business, sports administration or a similar field
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception through implementation
  • Understanding of emerging digital strategies and analytics; ability to remain contemporary
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Xcel; CRM systems such as SalesForce; and project management platforms such as Asana
  • Ability to travel for events and work a flexible schedule, including off-hours, weekends and holidays
  • Familiarity with the pickleball industry, or racquet sports, is beneficial but not required
