Materials Scheduler, Buyer

Location: Onsite at Union City, TN

Opportunity

Provide support to the
manufacturing plants for component planning, serving as liaison between
Purchasing and planner/buyers. Assists the plants in developing and maintaining
component strategies to drive consumer centric focus. Coordinates supplier collaboration
with strategic vendors and critical components. Drives component
planning/purchasing best practices with the plants utilizing SAP, and Project
Management.

Specific Responsibilities

• Drive a disciplined
  monthly/quarterly process with the plant materials to review and maintain
  credibility in component master data. This will include but not limited to
  component checking rules, safety stock, minimum order quantities, Kanban
  sizing, lot sizing, lead times, rounding values and auto PO.
• Drive consistency in component
  strategies among all plants aimed at improving customer delivery and ensuring
  vendor information from each plant is generated the same.
• Establish Supplier
  collaboration for key vendors at each plant, providing credible long-term
  requirements for key components. Validate disconnects in planning data between
  historical usage and forecast, driving out excesses at the vendors and
  improving on time delivery.
• Assist the plants with phase
  out and phase in of new components, establishing a well communicated plan with
  purchasing, vendors and the plant materials group. Ensure SAP data and
  effectivity dates are updated as required.
• Manage the Excess and
  Obsolescence dollars for components at the plants. Identify component planning
  disconnects driving E&O and collaborate with purchasing, vendors, and plant
  materials on process improvements to eliminate or reduce.
• Develop and maintain component
  and vendor capacities in Supply Network Planning where applicable. Coordinate
  with plant planning teams on shared products to ensure adequate supply plans
  exist to support production. Escalate the resource capacity shortages to the
  appropriate purchasing or plant manager.

Skills/Requirements

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in
  Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, or 3+ years of
  relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge in SAP and Microsoft Excel required
  with proficiency in the MS Office Suite is desired
• APICS certification is a plus
