Mechanical Engineer Maintenance

Mechanical Engineer Maintenance (Kennecott Utah Copper LLC, South Jordan, UT): Provide day to day technical support to maintenance and operation teams for a variety of physical assets, including Mining Equipment, Shovels, Blast Hole Drills, Haul trucks and other support equipment. Conduct equipment failure analysis and documentation using lean tools & problem-solving techniques and implement corrective actions. Review equipment issues and design specifications and provide recommendations on improvement changes. Support site-based capital project delivery and interface with central sustaining capital project teams. Perform root cause analyses and provide inputs to a Defect Elimination team. Provide logistical and technical support during plant shutdowns. Publish daily KPIs relating to production critical assets or systems. Validate production loss data analytics. Participate in Reliability facilitated asset tactics development (RCA/PMO). Manage Continuous Improvement process to deliver improvements in safety, production and cost.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, plus 1 year of work experience in fixed plant or HME (Heavy Mobile Equipment) maintenance engineering; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, plus 3 years of work experience in fixed plant or HME (Heavy Mobile Equipment) maintenance engineering.

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:

• Utilizing Auto CAD and Autodesk Inventor;
• Developing and reviewing CCC (critical control checklists), SOP (Standard operating procedures), and participating in incident investigations;
• Utilizing MS Excel and Power BI Software for visualizing and reporting analysis results;
• Utilizing SAP and Ampla for gathering production and maintenance information;
• Applying Defect Elimination processes and Root Cause Analysis; and
• Delivering Continuous Improvement initiatives or projects in fixed plant or HME maintenance engineering.

Travel required up to 10%.
