Sound good? (We think so, too!) Here's what you would do:

• Check members and visitors into our membership system and either grants or denies access to the facility
• Greets visitors and members as they arrive becoming familiar with member names
• Perform health safety checks on members upon entry
• Update member information into membership and fitness database software
• Assists with setting up and/or closing down fitness centers
• Cleans and disinfects equipment
• Listens to visitors, asks clarifying questions, shows them around the facility, introduces them to other staff and members and suggests solutions to meet their needs and interests by joining the YMCA
• Handles and resolves membership concerns
• Brings unusual or unresolved issues to the attention of Membership Director.
• Responds to inquiries by accessing and sharing accurate information both in person and on the walkie-talkies, or redirects inquiries to the appropriate staff
• Enforce safety procedures and rules
• Performs other job-related duties as requested and necessary

"OK, I'm sold!" What do I need to qualify?

• Must be 18 or older
• 6 months of sales and relationship-building experience a plus
• Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA
• An enthusiastic personality with the desire to serve members, volunteers, guests, participants and staff to create a culture of service within our centers
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
• Ability to work as part of a team and develop harmonious relationships with staff, members, guests and volunteers
• Conflict resolution skills, and ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail
• Experience with basic windows based applications
• Possess basic math, grammar, and spelling skills to complete transactions
• CPR/AED and First Aid, certification required and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in various temperatures
• Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects
