Nurse (RN) Full Time

Arlington Free Clinic is a nonprofit organization that provides free, high-quality healthcare to low-income, uninsured adults in Arlington, Virginia. We offer comprehensive services onsite including primary and specialty care, behavioral health, and dental care. We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. We provide a strong nursing model with a unique combination of autonomy and collaboration. The right person will play an essential role in ensuring high quality, patient-centered care management to our patients in collaboration with other members of the clinical team. In this setting you will become familiar with patients and work closely with them to actively manage their health care.

You will be responsible for:

· Assessing/triage of walk-in patients, planning their care and documenting in the EMR

· Scheduling patient appointments and organizing pre-appointment work-up and post appointment follow-up as ordered

· Educating patients on managing symptoms, medications and self-care using teach back and motivational interviewing methods

· Coordinating patient care with support of Medical Assistants

· Managing a panel of patients with chronic diseases

· Managing onsite and telehealth appointments with volunteer medical providers

· Managing electronic medical records and health care data

We are looking for someone who:

· Enjoys working independently and collaboratively, as part of a team.

· Is motivated to initiate, build, and sustain relationships with patients, staff and volunteers

· Experience with or is excited about working in a safety-net clinic

· Is highly organized and can coordinate a variety of tasks simultaneously

This position might be a good fit for someone who:

· Is curious about how to overcome barriers to improving healthcare for the uninsured

· Prefers a Monday to Friday full-time schedule, an 8-hour workday with some evening hours

Requirements:

· Registered Nurse (BSN strong preferred), current Virginia license

· Minimum 3 years’ work experience in healthcare setting

· Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred

· Current BLS certification

· Experience using EMR (EPIC preferred) and proficient in MS Office
