Minority Access has a paid summer internship job offering. If selected, you will be assigned to the federal agency, National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), central office in Alexandria, VA. This is a remote (work from home) internship, Monday – Friday 40 hours per week, no weekends or federally recognized holidays. The internship will begin June 5, 2023 and continue until August 11, 2023. You must be able and willing to work these ten continuous weeks to qualify.

NCUA Office: Office of Consumer Financial Protection (OCFP), Division of Consumer Affairs (DOCA)

Qualifications:

The student applicant should have an interest in creating consumer education content for social media, videos, websites, newsletters, guides, and other materials to promote financial literacy, capability and inclusion. The student applicant should also have the ability to conduct complex research and data analysis on matters related to consumer financial protection and/or financial literacy to assist with consumer education programming.

Position Responsibilities:

The student intern will be responsible for providing support in the administration of the NCUA’s financial literacy, inclusion, and outreach initiatives. The student will support these initiatives by conducting research and data analysis on consumer financial protection statutes and regulations to assist with program and curriculum development, as well as drafting reports and briefing materials. The student will also collaborate on the creation of consumer education content for NCUA’s consumer facing website, social media, newsletters, NCUA’s Consumer Tips video series, and infographics. The student may also have an opportunity to present at webinars on consumer financial protection and/or financial literacy matters for internal and external stakeholders.

Additional duties:

  • Functions at the general support level for regular Office functions and for special projects, subject to established rules and procedures governing assigned duties and tasks.
  • Uses various computer software programs to produce spreadsheets and reports, analyze data and create, edit, and print a variety of correspondence and documents. Ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the maintenance of office records, logs, and files.
  • Performs other related functions as assigned.
