Part-Time Family Therapist Job at Embark Behavioral Health
The Family Therapist is responsible for overseeing the clinical care and treatment of Deschutes Wilderness Therapy immersion parents and families as well as supporting external families via NEST Family Intensive. Clinical services include parent coaching, family workshop and family therapy day as well as NEST Family Intensives.
The Family Therapist is responsible for providing clinical support and services across the range of family services offered by Deschutes Wilderness Therapy and Nest Family Services, to include:
- Providing parent coaching sessions to parents of assigned immersion students or young adults. This is generally up to 6 parent coaching sessions although families may purchase additional parent coaching sessions in consult with the family therapist;
- Supporting and facilitating (as assigned) Family Workshop as part of the therapeutic family visit that occurs approximately midstay in the DWT immersion wilderness programs;
- Supporting and facilitating (as assigned) Family Therapy Day as part of the therapeutic family visit that occurs approximately midstay in the DWT immersion wilderness programs;
- Supporting NEST Family Intensives (as assigned) including providing intensive family therapy as a part of each day of the intensive and working with the NEST Family Services Team to plan and implement the Family Intensive Plan for each family.
The Family Therapist is skilled at working with complex families with multigenerational trauma, communication challenges, attachment issues and significantly struggling family systems. Competent clinical skills in parent coaching and family systems are essential.
- Clinical care of assigned parents and families
- Timely completion of clinical paperwork
- Excellent communication with treatment team and Primary Therapist
- The Family Therapist participates in clinical intake, case management, individual and group supervision, treatment and clinical team meetings and ongoing training
- The Family Therapist will provide excellent customer service during weekly phone calls with clients' families and referral partners
- The Family Therapist may be asked to participate in EC tours, outreach, marketing, and taking part in conferences to spread the word about the great work that is happening at DWT and within NEST family services
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in counseling-related field required
- State licensed or proof of license eligibility in Oregon
- 21+ years old
- 1+ years post-graduate experience working in the field with at-risk youth
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds for extended durations and can walk at least 1 mile over uneven terrain
- Must be able to pass a Background Criminal Investigation
- Must hold a valid driver's license with clean driving record
- First Aid, CPR, and Wilderness First Responder certification preferred
