AYE of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. provides over 2,500 youth and adults with job training, educational and career services each year. An additional 1,500 persons receive referral and job placement assistance through an extensive network of employers and community organizations. Partnered with the American Job Center of California (AJCC) has three locations and is one of the largest AJCCs also in partnership with East Los Angeles College.
AYES’ Program Coordinator will assume primary responsibility for ensuring that program activities are in line with the stated objectives for the program’s strategic plan and goals to include providing case management to participants, finding employment opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations, including direct services, case management, administration, and record keeping.
- Supervise, assign, instruct, trains, and may evaluate assigned staff.
- Prepares monthly program reports and statistics.
- Provide case management to assigned caseload.
- Resolves problems encountered by program and staff.
- Provide employment opportunities for participants to identify barriers and develop strategies to accomplish goals.
- Prepares budgets and program narratives annually.
- Represents program at various agency and community meetings.
- Clarifies and implements policies for staff.
- Reviews all individual Service Strategy for each client and provides them with career and vocational counseling designed to promote long-term employability.
- Evaluates and monitors training site compliance with Employment and Training agreement and applicable Federal, State and local government sponsor laws, regulations and requirements on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- One to three years of related experience.
- Communicate effectively in written and oral form.
- Experience with workforce development preferred
- Must have experience working with youth.
- Ability to take initiative and work under pressure.
- Experience with developing vocational skill.
- Strong organizational and case management skills.
- Willingness to be a team-player.
- Ability to travel at least 30 % ·
- Must have transportation, valid driver’s license with clean driving record and current car insurance.
