Summary:
The Division/Department of Surgery in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with ongoing research projects.
Under the direct supervision of the Research Administrator, the Research Specialist will assist with recruiting, evaluating and enrolling patients in active clinical trials; assist with obtaining informed consent, collect and enter study data, and schedule subjects for study visits; the Research Specialist will play a critical part in the success of the clinical trials and therefore you should be able to work independently and within a team. In addition the Research Specialist will assist with conducting clinical trials; primary contact for research subjects; manage data collection and data entry; process and ship laboratory specimens and present project updates at clinical research meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Excellent Computer skills.
- Able to resolve problems/issues.
- Detail oriented.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Flexible in an ever-changing environment.
- Proficient is standard computer programs (word, excel, etc.)
- Aptitude in professionalism.
- Must be willing to work 2nd shift 1pm-9pm on a rotating basis.
This position requires a background check.
This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.
This is a grant funded position.
