Job Objective: Manage responsibilities at the front desk of the Resident Services Area with attention to detail and excellent customer service, all while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor and enforce accessibility of main entrance into the building. Ensure visitors sign in and out of building and conduct proper screening. Ensure that all beneficiaries of the program sign-in and sign-out of the building.
  • Monitor Resident Services Area and lobby. Demonstrate ability to assess situations and respond appropriately.
  • Answer inquiry calls from prospective program participants. If needed, work with Intake Coordinator to coordinate the needed assessment.
  • Answer calls and provide accurate information regarding Salvation Army Thrift Stores and ARC program.
  • Make daily calls to outside agencies to assist in outreach.
  • Coordinate with housing staff to arrange for transport of potential program participants (helping facilitate pick-ups of potential intakes)
  • Administer alcohol test (breathalyzer) to all program beneficiaries and potential program participants when they enter the building, reporting any positive tests and recording/documenting the information.
  • Assist when needed with daily duties including, but not limited to: alcohol tests, mail processing, emergency drills, fire, tornado, etc. in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Search and accept appropriate and allowed drop off items. Issue receipts for cash drop offs. Maintain security of items until beneficiary receives them and proper forms are completed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma, equivalent or working towards receiving it.

Skills/Abilities: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from beneficiaries, agencies, or the community. Ability to effectively present information to Administration, beneficiaries, and/or public groups. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of materials furnished in written, oral or schedule form. Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office and data management.

Supervisory Responsibility: None.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The environment may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather.
