This site is adjacent to The Andersons' grain elevator in Logansport, Indiana. Since opening in April 2007, The Andersons has managed the 135 million gallon ethanol plant, which requires 46 million bushels of corn to operate and also produces 390,000 tons of distiller dried grains annually. Ethanol, E-85 and corn oil are available.
We are seeking a seasonal laborer to join our Grain operations team. We’re looking for reliable and hardworking individual responsible for receiving, handling and loading of raw materials and finished goods. Work schedule will vary based on business need. Must be flexible and available to work both day shift (9 am - 5 pm) and 2nd shift (3 pm - 11 pm).
Position Overview
This position is responsible for performing grain operations activities in the areas of inspection and general operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection activities such as weighing trucks, gathering product samples, product testing and evaluating product quality
- Operate grain handling and receiving equipment; provide customer service to delivery drivers and perform data entry of delivery details
- Monitor equipment and processes to identify issues; resolve or escalate issues as necessary
- Operate various types of mobile equipment
- Perform general housekeeping activities

- Minimal job-related experience
- Work is prescribed and completed with close supervision and little autonomy
- Duties are clearly defined and methods and tasks are described in detail
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Valid Driver license
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Previous grain operations experience preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
- Work is performed in a facility that operates 24x7.
- Must be able to stand/sit for an extended period of time
- Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 100 feet
- Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
- Working conditions could include: dust, fumes, moderate noise and uneven surfaces
