Beacon Resources Los Angeles is conducting a search for a Senior Accountant to join a popular, fast-growth, pre-IPO, Consumer Products company.

Job - You will assist the accounting department to support corporate accounting, finance, and reporting needs. This opportunity is enticing to the ambitious Senior Accountant who wants to advance his or her career. Unlike usual G/L Senior Accountant roles, this one will have a Cost/Inventory element. You will be reporting to a Director of Accounting.

Job Site Status (Onsite/Hybrid/Mixed) – Our client has a hybrid schedule (two (2) days/week in the office).

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

General Ledger (G/L) Accounting

• Perform Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Accounting Closes
• Input and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly Balance Sheet and Cash Flow analysis

Accounting Operations

• Assist in all Accounts Receivable functions (Aged Trial Balance analysis, collections, chargebacks)

Inventory Accounting

• Participate in all month-end closes involving inventory issues
• Input Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations into the General Ledger (G/L) as it involves inventory and fixed asset issues
• Support all other accounting personnel in physical inventory counts, including shrink counts
• Ensure all inventory counting and fixed asset assessment procedures follow all relevant internal control systems
• Research all practical solutions to improve inventory accounting processes, including ways to reduce shrink counts
• Analyze variances in inventory between stated and actual counts

Compliance

• Assist in all audit matters

Miscellaneous

• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Required

• BA in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (or in lieu, equivalent work experience)
• At least five (5) years of General Ledger (G/L) accounting experience, ideally with a public accounting firm/corporate accounting blend

Preferred

• At least 2+ years of experience in a similar role in a Consumer Products Goods (CPG) company and/or in a e-commerce-oriented company
• CPA

SKILLS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Technical

• Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, and IF formulas)
• Competency with a major ERP system

Interpersonal

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
• Comfortable in a fast-paced company environment with minimal direction
