ROLE: The Sr. Business Analyst works closely with many corporate functions, including Product Development, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance. They are responsible for developing a product cost model that includes every aspect of the manufacturing and selling processes. The Sr. Business Analyst will actively engage in project meetings and develop reports to communicate profitability by customer and item.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Develop an all-inclusive cost model that calculates a product's cost to manufacture and deliver to the customer.
  • Research and analyze data regarding costs of materials, labor rates, equipment prices, and other factors that affect product costs.
  • Recommend cost reduction strategies that can be applied to new projects.
  • Advise the business on strategy, including as it relates to asset utilization.
  • Analyze costs associated with production processes, labor rates, machinery costs, raw materials costs, overhead expenses, etc.
  • Conduct cost analyses on new or existing products to determine the cost of producing them.
  • Prepare price-volume trade off analysis and present recommendations to the Executive Team.
  • Collaborating with sales and marketing departments on developing and implementing competitive pricing strategies.
  • Track costs for new products or services throughout the development process to ensure that they remain within budget parameters.
  • Working with manufacturing managers to identify ways to cut costs without compromising quality or efficiency.
  • Develop cost models that predict how changes in pricing or other factors might affect sales of a product or service

Requirements:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or economics, or 5 years of equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Contract management
  • Hands-on knowledge of working in an Oracle ERP environment or the equivalent
  • Report generation and database management skills.
  • Experience in managing projects
  • Experience in a variety of financial analyses and reporting
