We are currently seeking Shelter Monitors for a Residential Homeless Facility for male Veterans located on the campus of the VAGLAHS medical center.

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position - Day Shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) Mid Shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm) Overnight Shifts (11:00 pm - 7:30 am). Successful candidates must have the ability to cover various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
  • Performing general administrative functions.
  • Assist with inventory control.
  • Assist with dining, mealtimes, and facility clean-up.
  • Complete bed count list before the end of shift.
  • Conduct at least 8 rounds per shift.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively in a healthy and safe manner with all staff and clients.

We also require:
  • High school diploma, and or equivalent, and one (1) year of continuous experience working in support of homeless populations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal, written, and electronic mediums.
  • Strong teamwork orientation.
  • Willing to work with individuals who may have mental health, chemical health, or physical disabilities.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and results-oriented.
  • We are looking for someone who provides consistent coverage for assigned shifts, works well with a team, and, independently to completes all shift tasks.
Opened in April of 2020 in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Veterans Administration (VA) A Bridge Home provides on-site intensive case management services that are tailored for each individual Veteran to stabilize their lives and to obtain permanent housing within 180 days.
