The Substitute Teacher Coordinator & Office Assistant will split their time coordinating class coverage and handling administrative tasks as assigned. The Substitute Teacher Coordinator & Office Assistant can expect to: Work with faculty and staff serving a diverse student body from Cambridge, Boston, and surrounding citiesSustain a school-wide culture of respect, belonging, and achievementParticipate in myriad forms of professional development as scheduled for all staffCoordinate substitute teacher coverage: Arrange for and assign substitutes to fill faculty and staff absences, both full and partial days, to ensure adequate classroom and duty coverageReceive and review sub plans from teachers, create organized schedules and plans for substitutes Act as point person for staff who need to call out of work before school starts or during the school day (manage Sick Line phone number and coverage email address)Find internal coverage when needed, track internal subbing and compensation rates Approve time sheets for external substitute teachers Coordinate hiring and training of new substitute teachers in collaboration with other staff Act as Office Assistant: Perform a wide variety of clerical and secretarial duties as assigned. Specific responsibilities will be determined in conjunction with supervisor, based on the employee's experience and skills and the Schools needs.
Responsibilities could include, but not be limited to, any of the following: Supporting the Principal's office Collecting and distributing data and information to teachers, students, staff, and familiesSupporting CCSCs front desk team or operations staff Perform related duties as requiredQualifications: General computer competence and skills required, including proficiency in Gmail, Google Docs and SheetsExcellent communication skillsCapacity to learn how to operate PowerSchool and other school-specific data systems Experience working in a school environment and/or with youth directly is preferredAbility to collaborate closely with colleagues, work independently, and juggle daily tasks with projects that have short- and long-term deadlines SalaryThe salary range for this position is $45,000-$52,000 depending on experience.
