Where Your Story Begins?

York County Libraries is a nonprofit organization comprised of?13 full-service libraries, two pick-up/drop-off locations, an active website, teen Discord server, a collection of strong social media profiles, and a YouTube channel. We have locations all over York County, from Dillsburg to Stewartstown, Hanover to Hellam, and we are proud to be active, present forces in the communities that surround our buildings.

We strive to strengthen the York County community, and enrich individual lives by supplying information, providing recreation, promoting literacy, and encouraging life-long learning. We offer?programming?for children, teens, adults, and seniors, and provide over 600,000 print and digital items for loan and use. Accessing and using our materials is easy- all you need is a free library card, available at any of the full-service libraries, and accepted at all locations throughout York County.

General Information

This internship is project-based with a varying schedule depending on recording needs & editing and approval process time. You?ll work in a hybrid (on-site and remote) work environment that will see you visiting multiple locations throughout your internship. We highly encourage all planning and editing work to be done remotely, if possible. Interns will only be coming to Martin Library to meet with their supervisor and exchange equipment as needed. All equipment should be kept in good working order.

Responsibilities

All interns will pay for their travel expenses, offset by a stipend.

You will share YCL owned equipment, subscription services etc. or provide your own if you prefer.

You?ll work in a hybrid (on-site and remote) work environment that will see you visiting multiple locations throughout your internship.

General duties may include: Assisting with video production from story boarding to recording to editing and publishing.

Specific projects in need of support include: Creating longer form videos (3 minutes or less) in our heart-warming ?Library Stories? community impact series. Other projects may also become available.
