Shurm Homes seeks a Warranty Technician for the Warranty Department. The right candidate will have ultimate responsibility for all warranty related activities with support from project managers, which includes 3-month warranties, 1-year warranties, warranty budgets, warranty tracking through Mark Systems/IHMS, subcontractor rating, implementation of best construction practices to minimize warranty requests and improve quality of construction, and direct contact with homeowners and subcontractors after closing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Represent Shurm Homes providing exceptional customer service and timely warranty repairs.
• Take proactive actions with all customers during 3-month and 1-year warranty requests.
• Respond to all warranty requests the same day.
• Detailed records of each warranty meeting/call and corrective action taken entered in Mark System/IHMS.
• Review performance and construction standards of all subcontractors and hold monthly meetings implementing best construction practices based on warranty data.
• Ability to patch drywall, paint, repair squeaks, carpentry, flooring and cabinet installations, etc.
• Hands on and has the ability to fix it today!
• Support all employees especially project managers as needed depending on the need to balance work load.
• Present a clean appearance and professional demeanor at all times.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma and 3-5 years trade experience minimum.
• Proven ability to lead and a self-starter with great organizational skills.
• Able to prioritize tasks and available nights/weekends to take calls and/or respond to warranty requests.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve warranty requests.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
• IHMS/Mark Systems experience a plus.
• 4-year college degree a plus.
