Job Title: Software Developer

SUMMARY:

The Software Developer is responsible for the development, design and implementation of new or modified software products or ongoing business projects, using primarily ASP.Net Framework, C#, JavaScript and MSSQL. The Software Developer will be involved in supporting and maintaining software applications and designing enhancements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.

Core functions:

  • Designs, modifies, develops, writes, and implements software programming applications.
  • Serve as a technical lead contributing to and directing the technical design and testing for our testing processes.
  • Collaborates with system owners and other development team members to design, develop, install, and deploy new applications and/or upgrades to existing applications.
  • Ensures that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Assist in task planning and estimation.
  • Ensures proper system documentation.
  • Provides user support.
  • Provides ideas for new product enhancements utilizing the latest technology and best-practices.
  • Determine root cause for the most complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.

In addition, you will:

  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying new and existing legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary action.
  • Protect operations by keeping company information confidential.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to clients needs.
  • Demonstrate BV’s guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals.
  • Follow all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV's quality standards and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Possess the ability to use and skillfully operate a computer is essential to this position.
  • Possess the ability to use and skillfully operate an electronic tablet efficiently in the field for live data collection is essential to this position.
  • Successfully work from remote location.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:
  • 8+ years in a related web developer role with aligned experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field is highly preferred.
  • Years of experience and certifications in lieu of degree will be given consideration.
  • Must have experience working as a part of a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of standard software development methodologies.
  • Professional development experience using Microsoft technology and Microsoft SQL Server.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • None required.

PREFERENCE will be given to candidates with:
  • Microsoft web technologies (ASP.NET Framework, C#)
  • Web Services & APIs
  • Microsoft Azure platform
  • Microsoft Azure application architecture
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • JSON
  • JavaScript and frameworks (JQuery, AngularJS, NodeJS, Angular2)
  • Microsoft Office Products
  • Testing framework experience

Other Qualifications:
  • Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service.
  • Must be able to work from a remote location.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with Sales, Clients, Technical Operations, and other departments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
