Job Title: Glass Blower

1stShift: Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

Pay Rage $20.00 - $25.00 (DOE)

Summary:

Under general supervision, the Glass Preparer prepares pH flared glass stems for bulb blowing and makes ceramic combination glass assemblies. Performs related functions as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

· Set-up and operate glass shop equipment, such as glass working lathes, glass cutting saws, and gas stationary torches.

· Use measuring tools, such as calipers, rulers, and scales.

· Read and understand prints, schematics, manufacturing procedures, and instructions.

· Complete daily work assignments within agreed upon time frame.

· Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Core tasks:

1. Read and interpret work orders and related work procedures.

2. Pull glass tube from stock.

3. Cut stem glass to required lengths using a glass cutting saw.

4. Set-up and operate glass crack-off and cutting machine.

5. Use calipers to check for correct set-up and dimensions.

6. Make ceramic combination glass assemblies.

7. Form small flares and square flare glass assemblies on the glass-working lathe.

8. Set up, operate, and trouble-shoot problems involving the automatic bulb-blowing machine.

9. Produce glass pH membranes (bulbs) on glass-flared stems by manually blowing glass.

10. Visually inspect parts for flaws.

11. Post completed goods staging in SAP database.

Complementary tasks:

1. Assist with packaging and labeling of glass products.

2. Post completed operations in SAP database.

Education/Training:

High School Diploma and or a GED are required.

Experience/Certification: One year of glass preparation, sealing, and finishing experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Knowledge of glass shop blowing, sealing, and finishing methods and techniques.

· Knowledge of proper glass quality specifications and inspection techniques.

· Knowledge of basic staging and inspection procedures.

· Knowledge of SAP procedures for work orders.

· Knowledge of chemical and materials hazards, Safety Data Sheets, and proper handling and storage procedures.

· Knowledge of trouble-shooting procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
