Volt is immediately hiring for Logistics Coordinator in Monroe, NC .

As a Logistics Coordinator you will work directly with the shipping, warehouse, operations, and sales teams to support shipment of customer orders.
  • Manage export shipments utilizing freight forwarders
    • Review customs information including HTS, ECCN, etc. for accuracy.
    • Prepare export shipping documents for all shipments
    • Determine proper tariff coding for freight per government requirements.
    • Coordinate with the customer’s freight forwarder on ship date.
    • Provide weights, carton count, skid count, and dims on orders.
    • Email/Fax customs documents.
    • Review completed Shipper’s Export Declaration for shipment. Analyze shipment paperwork and answer detailed questions on C.O.O. and B.O.M.
    • Send pre-alert documents
    • Confirm Shipments in Baan.
  • Operational Support
    • “Trouble shoot” small package shipping problems and drive corrective actions with carrier.
    • Advise shipping dock on carrier routing for all domestic and international shipments.
    • Verify Hazmat Declarations are correct and in compliance including proper UN #, proper shipping name, class, packing group and other required information.
  • Logistical support for Sales Team
    • Estimate and provide quotes to sales and marketing.
    • Review and verify shipments that meet all compliance requirements.
  • Utilize Baan System to generate and distribute reports to management team. Review data and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Review and submit requests for all distribution/office supplies used in the shipping and receiving departments.
  • Maintain all shipping records and documentation
    • Ensure that the following records are current and submitted: FedEx logs, UPS log, Bill of Lading, International documents, and Hazmat Declarations.
    • Manage onsite and offsite storage of documents.
  • Handle Domestic/International Returns
    • Investigate and determine why the shipment was returned. Establish process to improve future shipments in order to reduce/eliminate returns. Involve sales, marketing, distribution teams where appropriate.
    • Manage claims that are filed against carriers in order to recover value of shipment.
This is a full time opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Experience working with carriers and freight forwarders working with inbound and outboard export shipments
  • Experience with freight routing systems and shipment documentation

Pay Rate: $17.16 - $20.61 per hour
  • Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
