Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

Pricing Analyst is responsible for overseeing all spot bid portals. Pricing efforts across all UDL divisions, including timing, collaboration, and execution of all bids, and new customer pricing. This includes developing processes and protocols to ensure production of accurate and timely pricing that reflects the strategic direction the company and executive team have set forth.

Essential Job Functions:

As Pricing Analyst, your responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Oversee all spot portals and bidding operations of Updike
• Maintain and support ongoing pricing initiatives within Transportation and Brokerage Team
• Organize existing RFIs, RFPs, bids and lane data to streamline future bidding
• Database and organize all pricing efforts, awards and non-awards within CRM for future data analysis
• Manage and support all pricing efforts by our Enterprise and Direct Sales teams
• Produce regular reporting and analysis to determine market pricing across all segments
• Analyze market saturation, inbound/outbound market rates, market trends, conditions, forecasted economic information and customer pricing
• Assist in development, management, and refinement of a transportation pricing model based on awards, actualizations, and customer specific requirements
• Monitor market fluctuations and educating appropriate parties
• Analyze and organize UDL historical data into useable and consumable information for future reference
• Develop strategies for real-time pricing for use in daily operations
• Accessorial and fuel matrix management
• Initiate and manage regular account reviews to examine profitability, then report findings and recommendations for potential rate corrections
• Effectively interact with salespeople, operations teams, accounting, and senior leadership

Basic Qualifications (Required):

• Strong analytical and detail analysis skills
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to create SQL based reports, preferably using Microsoft SQL report builder
• Ability to create statistical and forecasting models to provide visibility and predict future scenarios
• Strong desire to learn and improve and take charge of processes and process improvement
• Business acumen with knowledge of business needs, goals and priorities
• Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Complex Problem Solving identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

A Masters degree in Finance/ Industrial Engineering/ Supply Chain engineering is strongly preferred

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors degree or greater in Business Administration, preferably engineering or finance

Experience in project management preferred

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in an open cubicle and/or normal office environment. Candidate must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
