SUMMARY

The Sr. Buyer will be responsible for carrying out service provider sourcing, tactical onboarding and information gathering for assigned geographic areas and trades. The Sr. Buyer will be leading price and contract negotiations as well as facilitating the vendor performance management responsibilities.

This role is a Hybrid role expected to be in the Columbus office 2 -3 days per week

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategically plan daily/weekly/monthly operational activities for the entire department to ensure established deadlines are met.
  • Approve all negotiated activities and submit daily reports to update CRM and fmPilot.
  • Run reports to distribute to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching/mentoring to Buyers and Associate Buyers.
  • Present continuous improvement process recommendations.
  • Provide support to Sourcing Manager and Director.
  • Support Service Partners by providing them new opportunities to help grow their business.
  • Review, interpret, and advise assigned service providers on scorecard performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow service provider base to ensure service provider depth.
  • Scope, contract and amendment writing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.
  • May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree Required - Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

2 - 4 Years of Related Experience Required

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITYThe Sr. Buyer should have experience in contract negotiations
Have a strong understanding of the market landscape
Intermediate in MS Office products including, Excel = V look ups, X look ups, Sum ifs, Pivot Tables etc.
Strong understanding of margins
Structured approach/style leveraging consistent methods and ability to work independently towards a defined goal

Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
